Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Optimization Engineer to join our team at Torrens Global Education Services Pty Limited. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and optimizing our dynamic cloud infrastructure as we transition from AWS to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The Role

You will lead the optimisation, automation, and security of cloud services with a focus on GCP. This will involve automating processes, monitoring performance, and integrating on-premise technology with our GCP solutions. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the migration and management of workloads and services from AWS to GCP;
  • Automating infrastructure management using tools like Terraform and Ansible;
  • Monitoring cloud performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the stability of the environment;
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate on-premise technology with cloud-based solutions;
  • Staying at the forefront of emerging cloud technologies and continuously innovating to enhance our cloud infrastructure.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience with GCP technologies;
  • Familiarity with AWS, with a willingness and enthusiasm to upskill across platforms;
  • Strong experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible;
  • Proficiency in Git for version control;
  • A deep understanding of Linux systems (SSH, shell scripting) and performance monitoring tools;
  • Proven ability to analyse complex issues, design creative solutions, and proactively address cloud infrastructure challenges;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
