About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team at Shell Energy. As a key member of our finance function, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and success of our B2C retail and Emobility businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a finance advisor for the Shell Energy Australia B2C and Emobility businesses, providing commercial finance support and guidance to the commercial teams.
  • Primary responsibility for tracking and forecasting Revenues, Gross Margin and Unit Margins for forecasting, budget monitoring, input into financial planning/budget process, performance target setting including performance analysis of trends and variances.
  • Provide financial and analytical support for the launch of new products and initiatives, including Shell Electric Vehicle products and growth of the Emobility business in Australia.
  • Collaborate with Shell Trading and Powershop Commercial to manage risk exposures to wholesale electricity and gas markets.
  • Design financial and management accounting reports for senior management using Power BI & SAP Business Warehouse.
  • Identify and escalate any potential financial accounting, income tax, indirect tax or regulatory compliance issues for referral to Subject Matter Experts within Shell.
Requirements
  • Experienced finance professional with a mix of finance fundamentals and commercial acumen.
  • Prior experience with wholesale derivatives either with an energy retailer, energy producer, energy trader or commodities broker dealer is critical.
  • Ability to establish credibility and partner with commercial teams to provide direction & advice in addition to analysis & understanding of key issues.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and ability to understand market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated business partnering track record; well-developed relationship building & influencing skills.
  • Practical mindset, team player, highly motivated self-starter.
  • Relevant undergraduate tertiary degree or equivalent.
  • Accounting or Finance professional level qualification (CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent.
