As the Head of Risk, you'll play a crucial role in shaping Equifax's risk management strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a senior leadership position that requires a strategic thinker who can lead and influence at a senior level.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in risk management or a related field, preferably within the financial services or data industry. They will possess proven expertise in interpreting and applying complex risk management frameworks, demonstrated ability to lead and influence at a senior level, and strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Regulatory Risk Leadership:

    • Ensure alignment of Equifax practices with local and global regulatory risk expectations

    • Proactively identify risk gaps, carry out risk assessments, and risk mitigation work, then provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership

  • Third-Party Liaison:

    • Serve as the primary liaison between Equifax and customers and third-party service providers on risk matters

    • Manage and resolve third-party inquiries related to regulatory risk issues

  • Strategic Initiative Management:

    • Scope and manage key strategic initiatives related to risk issues, ensuring compliance with the Equifax Australia risk management standard

    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource requirements, and drive successful implementation in relation to risk issues arising from both BAU and strategic matters

    • Identify and remove implementation barriers, while ensuring compliance with risk-aware processes and procedures

    • Provide commercially-focused risk guidance on legal and compliance issues and solutions

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship:

    • Provide guidance and mentorship to a small team of risk professionals

    • Provide visible and strong leadership on risk matters to the Equifax Australia business, and to be the key risk custodian in Equifax Inc on Australian risk matters
