Transmission Line Operatives Wanted

We are seeking skilled professionals to join our team as Transmission Line Operatives. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong background in transmission lines.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Dogmen and Riggers to work on the Central-West Orana REZ Transmission Project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe handling, movement, and storage of transmission line materials and equipment.

You will also be required to carry out safety checks on slings, chains, and hooks, attach lifting gear to loads, calculate load weight, and assist with the assembly and erection of transmission structures.

The successful candidate must be local to the Central-West Orana region and be willing to drive to Merotherie each day, working overtime including weekends if required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safely handle, move, and store transmission line materials and equipment
  2. Carry out regular safety checks on slings, chains, and hooks
  3. Attach lifting gear to loads using slings, shackles, and spreader bars
  4. Calculate load weights to ensure safe lifting practices
  5. Assist with the assembly and erection of transmission structures
  6. Store and stack materials in warehouses to prevent damage
  7. Provide spotting and communication services to crane truck drivers and warehouse personnel
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience in transmission lines highly desirable
  • A High Risk Work License for rigging and dogging (RB or RI and DG)
  • A Construction white card
  • A Full C class driver's license at minimum
  • The ability to own a vehicle
  • A willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical and police check
