Job Description

City of Palmerston is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Technology and Assets Manager to lead the strategic direction of our IT and asset management functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring innovative and forward-thinking leadership, meeting community needs, and delivering services with a strong focus on people, customer experience, and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the IT strategy, overseeing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project and applying asset management principles across all Council activities.
  • Ensure the security of ICT systems and oversee disaster recovery plans.
  • Lead the delivery of key services and programs, embracing modern practices and trends while navigating public and political considerations.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on building staff accountability, skills, agility, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification/s in information technology, computer science, or asset management.
  • At least three years of experience in a leadership position, preferably in IT and asset management.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and strategic planning skills.
  • Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing complex projects, including implementing new technologies and systems.
  • Ability to manage budgets, foster stakeholder relationships, and deliver customer-focused outcomes.
