We are seeking a seasoned Compliance Advisory leader to oversee our Line 1 Compliance Advisory team. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, as you will be guiding the team to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and managing risks effectively.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Line 1 compliance and/or risk management, along with experience in retail banking or financial services. You must be able to strike a balance between hands-on technical compliance work and strategic thinking needed to lead and embed compliance management across the organisation.
Your strong grasp of relevant regulatory obligations and ability to provide practical, pragmatic risk-based advice that supports sound business decisions is essential. Additionally, you should be comfortable influencing and partnering with stakeholders at all levels, fostering a positive risk culture while knowing when to constructively challenge.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Line 1 Compliance Advisory team to achieve compliance objectives.
- Maintain continuous improvement and compliance knowledge across the team.
- Work with senior leadership to implement strategic objectives and embed roles and responsibilities.
- Assist in reviewing policies, procedures, and system changes to ensure compliance.
- Manage incidents and identify compliance-related issues.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven leadership and compliance expertise.
- Experience in retail banking or financial services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
