About the Role

The Deputy Team Leader has responsibility for managing and ensuring effective administration and internal coordination of the Climate Resilient Communities Support Unit (CRCSU).

The successful candidate will provide technical and administrative leadership to the CRCSU and manage resources to ensure efficient and value for money delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Contractor Representative and Team Leader to deliver the CRCSU as a high performing support unit.
  • Facilitate coordination between the program units to ensure efficient and effective implementation of CRCSU.
  • Provide technical assistance across all development sectors, including integrating gender equality, disability equity, and other cross-cutting issues.
  • Oversight of monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure quality and improve performance of programs and projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to convey complex information in a manner easily understood by non-experts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Essential Experience and Knowledge

  • An established career in the international development sector with a proven track record in delivering results.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and management, including developing strong team culture, planning, budgeting, financial management, performance, and risk management on international development programs.
  • Deep knowledge of and significant experience in a senior leadership role on an international development program.
  • Experience in the oversight of monitoring and evaluation, research, and learning processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate and maintain productive working relationships across geographically dispersed teams.
