Senior Prosecutor Opportunity

About the Role

This senior prosecutor role offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality legal advice and representation in the prosecution of summary matters.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a prosecutor or advocate, strong knowledge of the law and procedures, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Expert Legal Advice: Provide expert legal advice on the prosecution of summary matters, including high-quality legal opinions and recommendations.
  • Represent the Prosecution: Represent the prosecution in court hearings, ensuring effective communication and advocacy skills.
  • Appeal Decisions: Appeal decisions in less complex cases, requiring strong analytical and argumentation skills.
  • Collaborate with the Director: Collaborate with the Director of Public Prosecutions on prosecution strategies, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
Requirements
  1. Significant Experience: Significant experience as a prosecutor or advocate, preferably in a similar role.
  2. Strong Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the law and procedures, including relevant legislation and case law.
  3. Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
  4. Ability to Work Independently: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
