Aboriginal Cancer Navigator Specialist

About the Role
The Cancer Care Coordinator will support and participate in health promotion and educational activities to promote cancer services through community education initiatives. They will build trust and positive working relationships with patients, their families, and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultural Sensitivity and Community Relations: Foster strong links and relationships with Aboriginal communities and agencies, promoting a culturally acceptable and competent program delivery.
- Holistic Care Coordination: Collaborate with a diverse team to assess, plan, organize, evaluate, and deliver culturally safe and secure holistic care.
- Access and Engagement Advocacy: Concentrate on enhancing accessibility and engagement with cancer services by actively addressing barriers.
- Project Planning and Reporting: Develop and implement a comprehensive project work plan for the Coordination of Care Project.
- Administrative Proficiency: Handle administrative responsibilities, including record maintenance, data collection, and documentation.
About You
We are looking for someone who is actively involved in the local Aboriginal community and has a demonstrated understanding and commitment to improving the health issues impacting on Aboriginal communities.
