About the Role

As a Clinical Coder, you will be responsible for abstracting and interpreting clinical information from medical records to assign accurate codes. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all data is up-to-date and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.

You will also participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in clinical coding.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Abstract and interpret clinical information from medical records
  • Assign accurate codes in accordance with ICD-10-AM and Australian Coding Standards
  • Participate in structured training program to develop skills in clinical coding
  • Leverage excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and articulately
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a recognised clinical coding qualification (HIMAA) and/or a Health Information Management degree and/or OTEN Clinical Coding qualification
  • Skills:
  • Pre-requisite proficiency in Medical Terminology
  • Demonstrated excellence in organisation and time management with the ability to manage competing priorities and daily targets
