The position requires a full-time contract, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Working across 7 days, 38 hours per week (4 shifts)
- Physicians/Consultants work in the department between morning and midnight, with senior registrars/medical practitioners working overnight, while consultants are available on call
- Experience a wide variety of cases from neonates to geriatric patients, inclusive of trauma, resuscitation and toxicology
Facility Overview:
The hospital is the primary regional healthcare facility in the area, boasting over 200 beds and serving as a specialised referral centre for northern Victoria. It caters to a population of around 90,000 and manages nearly 19,000 inpatient cases and 23,000 visits to the emergency department annually. The facility delivers an extensive array of acute specialist medical and surgical services, including an emergency department, critical care unit, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and specialised aged care.

Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, applicants must possess:
- A fellowship (FACEM) or be eligible for fellowship with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM)
- International Medical Graduates (IMGs) can apply via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)
- IMGs assessed by ACEM College as Substantially comparable
- Doctors who will be awarded the fellowship (FACEM) within the next 6 months are encouraged to apply
