Location: Central & North Coasts
Remuneration: Total remuneration package valued at $145,000, including a base salary of $130,094.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation.
School Overview: This role is situated within a comprehensive high school that serves students from Years 7 to 12, with an enrolment of 955 students, including a significant number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, as well as support students. The institution is committed to fostering an environment where every student can excel academically, engage in leadership opportunities, and participate in community service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, implement, and assess strategic initiatives and policies aimed at enhancing student wellbeing and improving educational outcomes for a diverse student body.
- Exhibit high-level organizational skills to effectively manage a large wellbeing team, proactively addressing the needs of students facing complex challenges.
- Collaborate closely with external agencies, staff, parents, and the community to provide comprehensive support and case management for students with varying wellbeing needs, particularly during critical times.
- Work collaboratively as a vital member of the school executive to spearhead initiatives that contribute to overall school improvement.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience with a focus on enhancing teaching, learning, and classroom practices.
- In-depth knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare, with the ability to design and lead inclusive educational programs.
- Strong educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to effectively plan and manage resources to support educational objectives.
- Commitment to the Department's policies regarding Aboriginal education.
Conditions: An unconditional full approval to teach is a prerequisite for this position. Candidates without full approval must obtain it concurrently with their application.
