Pharmacy Technician Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled pharmacy professional to join our team at the West Gippsland Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to further enhance your career in an ever-evolving multidisciplinary environment.

As a pharmacy technician, you will have the chance to diversify your career in pharmacy and be exposed to various services including hospital and compounding.

You will work with a dedicated team of staff and doctors to provide clinical pharmacy services across different settings, including General Medical, General Surgical, Maternity/Paediatric, Geriatric Evaluation and Management and Oncology within the public hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispensing and supplying medications for hospital patients
  • Processing and maintaining imprest levels, and managing hospital ward stock
  • Reconciling and managing prescriptions and patient medication discharge profiles
  • Providing support to patients, carers and hospital staff
  • Processing PBS claims and producing medication profiles for hospital patients on discharge
  • Completing administrative and record keeping duties
  • Assisting with patient account enquiries

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience dispensing medication in an Australian pharmacy
  • Detailed knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
