About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance Carpenter. As part of our Building Maintenance team, you will gain hands-on experience in maintenance and repairs, working on various projects to keep our city's assets safe, functional, and in working order.

You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, including repairing doors, windows, and fixtures, replacing damaged timber, and installing and repairing parkland furniture and equipment.

This role offers a great opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in carpentry, while being part of a dynamic team that works together to achieve excellent results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and infrastructure
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work
  • Working with hand and power tools, and operating machinery safely
  • Reading maintenance plans and schedules, and prioritizing tasks accordingly
  • Collaborating with other team members to achieve shared goals and objectives
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in carpentry and construction, preferably in a local government or similar environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions
  • Current White Card (General Construction Induction Card)
