Cardiology Research Fellow Opportunity

This position offers a unique chance to develop expertise in clinical trials across the spectrum of cardiology.

The role is focused on providing training and experience in the management and participation in clinical trials within the Cardiology Department.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring high-quality patient care in clinical trials;
  • Assisting in the organization and efficient management of cardiovascular diseases;
  • Supervising and teaching medical students, postgraduate internal medicine trainees, and other staff as specified by the head of the unit and/or Division;
  • Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to consumer needs.

The research fellowship is a 3-year fixed-term position with rotations following the initial 12-month allocation as Advanced Trainee determined in line with your training and requirements. You will be expected to work collaboratively with the Cardiology Team to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the department's research activities.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification;
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration;
  • Demonstrated ability and interest in clinical research;
  • Experience in cardiac investigations including ECG reporting, Holter monitor reporting.
