About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager focusing on facilities to provide high-level commercial leadership within our Infrastructure Services Unit. This pivotal role is focused on overseeing key facilities maintenance contracts and contributing to the Council's strategic asset management approach. You will play a critical role in translating Council's financial goals into clear contractual targets, ensuring value for money, and driving performance improvements in collaboration with contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex, high-value facilities management contracts.
- Contribute to the provision of strategic asset advice.
- Design and manage performance regimes, ensuring contractors meet or exceed performance standards.
- Monitor budgets and value for money in contracts.
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including contractors and council stakeholders.
Requirements
- Extensive experience managing complex, high-value facilities management contracts.
- Strong commercial acumen and an ability to contribute to the provision of strategic asset advice.
- Proven ability to design and manage performance regimes, ensuring contractors meet or exceed performance standards.
- Financial literacy and the ability to monitor budgets and value for money in contracts.
- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.
