Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer

About the Job

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer to join our team as a Principal Electrical Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing protection schemes for HV/MV substations, transmission, and distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop protection schemes for HV/MV substations, transmission, and distribution networks.
  • Prepare and review relay protection settings, logic diagrams, and scheme drawings in compliance with AS/NZS standards.
  • Carry out protection coordination studies, short circuit analysis, load flow, and stability studies using industry software (ETAP, PowerFactory, DigSILENT).
  • Liaise with utilities, EPC contractors, and OEMs for protection equipment selection and configuration.
  • Prepare technical documentation including protection reports, single-line diagrams, and functional specifications.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in protection and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of AS/NZS standards and WHS legislation.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
