Strategic Financial Planning Specialist

Stellar Recruitment is proud to partner with one of Australia's leading mining organisations, currently undergoing a significant period of transformation and growth, to find a commercially sharp financial planning specialist. This is a high-impact, standalone role based in Brisbane, ideal for a finance professional who excels in building robust models, collaborating with technical teams, and influencing strategic decisions.

This role requires a combination of strategic insight and advanced financial modelling expertise. You will be responsible for everything from modelling proposals to conducting reviews on large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and building advanced Excel-based financial models to support business cases and strategic decisions
  • Partnering with asset management and engineering teams to analyse proposals and assess investment viability
  • Conducting thorough post-implementation reviews to evaluate project delivery
  • Presenting key findings and financial recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Driving budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning initiatives
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in financial planning, business case development, and capital investment analysis
  • Strong Excel modelling skills and a passion for creating and managing financial models
  • A commercially astute individual with strong stakeholder engagement skills and attention to detail
