At BAE Systems Australia, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Maritime business in Osborne, SA.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex electrical engineering projects, providing technical leadership and expertise to support the development and modification of electrical equipment, systems, structures, and materials.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing professional engineering, technical, and operational support to ensure project, task, and bid activities are completed accurately, safely, on-time, and on-budget.

You will act as a lead between engineering and production teams, providing timely solutions and facilitating communication between design and production teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in developing equipment designs, participating in design reviews, and undertaking typical design analyses and implementation of solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing electrical engineering services for the development or modification of electrical equipment, systems, structures, and materials.
  • Acting as a lead between engineering and production teams, providing professional engineering, technical, and operational support.
  • Providing timely solutions and facilitating communication between design and production teams.
  • Undertaking analysis to identify root cause problems and providing alternate solutions that meet both design and production requirements.
  • Designing and developing solutions, resolving engineering issues, and problems for a range of situations relating to specialist knowledge areas.
  • Applying a broad depth and breadth of expertise relating to the electrical engineering domain to complex engineering problems, challenges, issues, and problems associated with the area.
  • Measuring and monitoring response times for capture and rectification of production issues to ensure production delivery needs are met effectively.
  • Providing production expertise during design and development activities to the project team.
  • Accountable and responsible for engineering support to installation or production teams to ensure the correct installation, assembly, testing, and commissioning of designs or changes within required project budgets and schedules.
  • Interpreting design documentation and drawings where necessary for production staff.
