Data Transformation Specialist

We're on a mission to create a data-driven culture that balances work and home life, enabling our team to be the best they can be. As a Data Transformation Specialist, you'll play a key role in managing and optimising our data transformation processes.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, implementing, and optimising high-performance data transformation systems
  • Working with diverse data sources including SQL databases and flat files
  • Managing structured data and metadata efficiently
  • Utilising tools for querying, reporting, data mining, and OLAP
  • Overseeing data cleansing and enrichment processes
  • Designing and building scalable data pipelines
  • Conducting data transformation testing and validating data flows
  • Developing detailed, fit-for-purpose data models
  • Maintaining comprehensive technical documentation

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on data transformation experience
  • Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting in Linux / Unix environments
  • Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL, MonetDB, T-SQL)
  • Experience with Hive / PySpark
  • Familiarity with SCM / CI tools like SVN, Git, and Jenkins
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing and BI concepts
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
