Research Governance Lead Role

About the Role

The Research Office Manager will play a pivotal role in the Research Ethics and Governance team, ensuring that researchers have access to high-quality, timely advice and review processes for ethics and governance.

This position is responsible for the governance of all research activities across NSLHD, ensuring compliance with NSW Health and NSLHD policies and procedures, as well as relevant State and Federal guidelines, regulations, and legislations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Innovate and drive evidence-based practices to ensure engaging and fulfilling work environments.
  • Develop clear pathways for career progression through training secondments, recognition, and mentorship.
Requirements

Candidates must possess a tertiary qualification in science, health, ethics, or a relevant field, and/or post-graduate or doctorate-level research training or equivalent relevant experience.

Please describe your experience in clinical research governance, human research ethics, and/or clinical research within a hospital, medical research institute, or contract research organization environment.

Knowledge Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of legislation and relevant codes relating to research and clinical trials, including:

  • NHMRC Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research;
  • NHMRC National Statement of Ethical Conduct in Human Research;
  • Guideline for Good Clinical Practice;
  • National Clinical Trials Governance Framework;
  • Human Tissue Act; OGTR;
  • Therapeutics Goods Act 1989;
