The APS is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Cyber Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Specialist Information Security Advice: You will provide expert advice to our Information Technology Security Managers on the implementation of strategic direction and protective security outcomes.
- Ensure System Security: You will ensure that systems are managed in accordance with the Information Security Manual, Defence Security Principles Framework, DASA, and Protective Security Policy Framework.
- Develop Resources: You will assist the team in developing resources to support information systems security functions.
- Assess and Authorise Systems: You will ensure that systems are appropriately assessed and authorised throughout their life-cycle.
- Manage Cyber Security Risks: You will advise system owners and managers of risks to systems for which they are responsible.
The APS Cyber Team works to maintain a secure, resilient, and trusted electronic operating environment that supports Defence operations and business management. We are responsible for reviewing Information and Communication Technology documents, engaging with stakeholders, and providing cyber awareness training and advice.
Requirements- Good Communication Skills: You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility: You will be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and workload peaks.
- Ability to Multi-Task: You will be able to manage a workload that may consist of changing priorities and workload peaks.
- Approachable: You will be approachable and able to deliver instructions to individuals or groups.
- Ability to Provide Advice: You will be able to provide advice to personnel from a non-IT environment.
