Accreditation and Clinical Policy Coordinator Job Summary

This role is a key member of the Quality & Safety team, responsible for maintaining accreditation evidence portals or repositories, and coordinating clinical policy and procedure programs in accordance with the Quality Management System and adherence to the Clinical Governance Framework.

The ideal candidate will contribute to Accreditation and Clinical Quality & Safety Improvement agenda for Australian Unity, taking the lead on coordination of clinical policy, procedure and guideline processes, committee requirements related to clinical policy and procedure governance, clinical indicator program, and support for clinical audits for Health Services, Aged Care and Mental Health Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies reporting requirements and supporting front line teams to develop processes for accreditation readiness.
  • Preparing for accreditation assessment visits or surveys, including support during these visits and reviews.
  • Disseminating findings from accreditation surveys and visits through various media formats to stakeholders, assisting with proforma reporting templates or processes.
  • Supporting clinical teams to complete audits according to organisational audit program, ensuring escalation and reporting processes are maintained.
  • Overseeing and supporting accreditation documentation to achieve successful accreditation against relevant standards.
  • Identifying clinical indicators or benchmarking opportunities and exercises across Australian Unity, Home Health and Mental Health Services in accordance with National Clinical Governance Framework.
  • Coordinating clinical policy and procedure program, implementing Policy and Procedure Governance Committee terms of reference, good governance processes regarding policy and procedure development, approval and publication.
  • Providing advice and support in policy and procedure development and review, ensuring alignment with relevant NSQHS, Aged Care and DMHS standards.
  • Developing plans and sustainable processes for monitoring clinical variations and outcomes – including PROMS, PREMS, NPS, Clinical Indicators, AHPEQS, etc.
  • Supporting and guiding within a clinical audit framework, providing reporting rhythms, templates, tools and dashboards for leadership team support.
  • Working with stakeholders to identify policies and procedures where implementation plans may be required, supporting stakeholders to develop these.
  • Driving a continuous improvement culture promoting systematic effort to improve care and services across all aspects of care and service delivery.

A strong background in healthcare policy, quality management, and clinical governance would be beneficial for this role. Additionally, excellent communication and project management skills are essential for success in this position.
