We are seeking a highly skilled Lawyer to join our team in Canberra. As a key member of the employment and industrial relations team, you will work with partners on a range of matters.

The successful candidate will have a strong sense of purpose, ambition and a proactive approach to their work. They will be able to draft clear, concise, correct and commercial advice and documents, and possess effective written and verbal communication skills.

We are looking for a driven, self-starting professional who can work autonomously and is focused on attention to detail and providing an outstanding service to clients. The ideal candidate will have litigation experience and the ability to advise public sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise clients on all aspects of workplace relations, including employment law and industrial relations strategy.
  • Draft and review documents, including contracts, policies and procedures.
  • Represent clients in various Courts and Tribunals.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Lawyer (3+yrs PQE) working on a range of employment and industrial relations matters.
  • Able to draft clear, concise, correct and commercial advice and documents.
  • A strong sense of purpose, ambition and a proactive approach to your work.
  • Strong people skills; the ability to communicate and build a rapport with our clients.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • An appetite, and demonstrated ability to mentor and coach more junior team members.
  • A high degree of initiative, dedication and organisational ability with a strong client and commercial focus.
  • A proactive attitude towards personal development to expand your skills and knowledge to meet client needs.
