About Our Client

Our client is a reputable public practice firm based in Maroochydore, offering a range of advisory, accounting, taxation, and bookkeeping services to its extensive client portfolio.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts
  • Preparing financial statements for the same
  • Reviewing the above, including BAS and IASs for junior and offshore staff members
  • Reviewing SMSF financial statements and handling auditor queries
  • Exposure to a variety of taxation matters, including GST, CGT, FBT, and Division 7A
  • Collaborating on tax planning and other ad hoc consulting and advisory engagements
  • Liaising with clients and external agencies
  • Providing ad hoc accounting, taxation, and bookkeeping support to clients
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field (mandatory)
  • Professional certifications: CA, CPA, or CTA (desirable)
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in preparing tax returns, financial statements, complex accounting tasks, financial analysis, and management reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in liaising with government body organisations, such as the ATO
  • Ability to guide tax planning and strategies to optimise financial outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to supervise and mentor junior staff when needed
