
Strategic Facilities Leader

The Group Facilities Manager is responsible for the strategic management and operational oversight of all facilities across multiple states.
This role ensures that sites, buildings, plant, and equipment are safe, compliant, and optimised for operational efficiency, while supporting strategic goals and workforce needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day management of all facilities, ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and appearance.
- Develop and implement preventative and reactive maintenance schedules for buildings, plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Ensure all facilities meet WHS, environmental, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Source, negotiate, and manage service contracts for cleaning, security, building maintenance, waste management, and utilities.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are completed to standard, on time, and within budget.
- Plan and oversee facility upgrades, refurbishments, and relocations.
- Prepare business cases, budgets, and project timelines for capital works.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure projects meet operational needs.
- Develop and manage annual facilities budgets across all sites.
- Track and report on expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate asset registers and ensure lifecycle management strategies are in place.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety legislation.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Oversee emergency preparedness and business continuity measures.
- Drive energy efficiency, waste reduction, and other sustainability initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process and systems improvements in facilities management.
A successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant field such as facilities management, engineering, or business. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in facilities management, preferably in a leadership or management role, is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WHS, environmental, and statutory compliance requirements, as well as experience in managing budgets and resources.
