We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Legal Policy Manager to lead our team in developing and delivering high-quality legal and regulatory policy advice and instruments. As a key member of our senior management team, you will work closely with the Director, Policy and Regulation, to foster genuine partnerships across government, industry, and community to deliver organisational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of high-quality legislative instruments, guidelines, and regulatory policy.
- Draw on expertise across EPA to lead effective input to key State and national legislative and regulatory reforms and policy development.
- Lead the unit to continue to achieve high standards and a strong positive culture.
- Leadership experience in development and delivering legislative instruments and regulatory policy in a fast-moving and challenging public policy context.
- Expert understanding of the principles and procedures for the development of legislative instruments, regulatory policy, and legislation in Victoria.
- Proven ability to apply relevant government legislation, regulations, reporting directives, and procedures to achieve optimal organisational outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex matters through clear and succinct briefings and papers, engaging presentations, and effective meetings and conversations.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including building a shared sense of direction, clarifying priorities, identifying and responding proactively to strategic issues impacting the operating environment.
- Proven ability to work as an effective member of a cohesive senior management team in an organisation.
- A relevant tertiary degree and/or postgraduate qualifications in law.
