Job Summary

This role oversees the operation of a production team to meet business objectives in safety, environment, cost, and equipment performance.

The successful candidate will effectively work as an integral part of the senior management team, leading the Production team to achieve desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Shift Undermanagers and Engineering Coordinators to support safe and efficient implementation of the mine plan
  • Review compliance with daily plan and ensure corrective actions have taken place
  • Liaise with other Superintendents to achieve targeted results
  • Contribute to annual budgeting process
  • Facilitate effective communication strategies for the Production team
  • Establish boundaries of responsibility and accountability for all team members
Requirements
  • Diploma in Underground Coal Mining Management
  • Current Practising Certificate
  • Minimum 10 years management experience in the mining industry or similar
  • Risk Management qualifications (G2/G3)
  • ICAM basics - Accident/Incident Investigation
  • Certificate IV Leadership & Management
  • Strong understanding of mine safety and environmental systems
  • Sound computer literacy skills and geological/geotechnical knowledge
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance record
  • Commitment to site safety and operational practices
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal suited to multiple audiences
