Project Controls Specialist

Join a dynamic team at Aurizon, Australia's largest rail freight operator, and take on a challenging role as a Project Controls Specialist. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with the Project Controls Lead to manage project costs, identify risks, and deliver project status reports to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update and analyze project cost data, including budgets, actual costs, and forecasts, to ensure projects remain within financial guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, including fully resourced loaded activities, critical path methodology, and logically linked tasks.
  • Track, monitor, measure, and report on project progress using Earned Value Analysis techniques.
  • Implement and oversee project control processes, such as change management procedures, to manage project scope, schedule, and costs effectively.
  • Facilitate risk management activities, identifying and reporting on potential cost and schedule risks, and advising on mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting of project status and performance metrics.
  • Establish and maintain project documentation and records.

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Project Controls Specialist who thrives in a dynamic and agile environment. You'll need to have a high level of business and commercial acumen, as well as excellent communication and time management skills. Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Finance, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • High level of skill and proven extensive experience in project controls or related roles.
  • Well-developed communication and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 or a project planning software.
  • Experience using SAP.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience and knowledge of railway and infrastructure projects, preferred.
