Major Donations Manager

The role involves managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals, securing funding and cultivating supporters to increase engagement and giving aligned with the fundraising plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and secure new donors through targeted solicitation to meet fundraising targets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with major donors through regular communication and meetings
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify cross-functional engagement opportunities
  • Coordinate engagement activities for major donors including those held by senior leaders
  • Create and execute tailored communications such as updates acknowledgments and impact reports
  • Monitor and report on donor engagement and moves management in the CRM
  • Understand organisational funding focuses
  • Develop materials like prospectuses and proposals
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis
  • Serve as the primary contact for major donors inquiries
  • Participate in organisational events and functions
  • Work with the team lead to meet financial KPIs and goals
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver activities in the annual plan
  • Build positive relationships within and outside the fundraising team
  • Ensure attention to detail in written and data records
  • Comply with organisational policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant area preferred
  • Minimum three years in a not-for-profit environment
  • Minimum five years in fundraising or marketing
  • Proven success in soliciting major gifts and communicating impact
  • Experience in relationship building and bespoke communications
  • Developing proposals presentations and pitches
  • Experience working with senior leaders on solicitation and engagement activities
  • Confident in asking for donations and delivering proposals
