Job Description

Xero is seeking an Observability Strategist to drive the organization's observability strategy, collaborating closely with SRE and product engineering teams. This role involves defining a comprehensive vision, translating technical challenges into actionable product initiatives, and identifying gaps in monitoring and logging capabilities.

This role will work with various engineering teams across Xero to establish and own communication channels, helping teams develop shared mental models about system reliability and performance. The Observability Strategist will also evaluate and manage relationships with observability tool vendors.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of cloud services and modern software development and deployment practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend observability tools to optimize tool usage and improve overall observability.
