Job Title: Healthcare Professional
Nursing Role in 5D Haematology Day Unit
This is a full-time position where you will provide treatments, chemotherapies and blood product support for haematology outpatients.
You are required to be fully competent in chemotherapy management, CVAD (Central Venous Access Device) management, and IV cannulation.
- Critical Thinking and Assessment: Perform comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients to identify their needs.
- Discharge Planning: Identify and implement discharge-planning requirements to ensure a smooth transition for patients.
- Care Planning: Plan appropriate care in consultation with the patient and multidisciplinary team to achieve established outcomes.
- Prioritization and Implementation: Prioritize and implement planned care to meet patient needs.
- Evaluation and Revision: Evaluate patient progress and revise nursing interventions as required.
- Documentation and Communication: Timely, complete and accurate documentation of nursing care and patient progress, and effective communication with other team members.
About You
- Qualifications and Experience: Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA, recent clinical experience in Cancer Services Nursing.
- Work Characteristics: Ability to work unsupervised, efficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand.
- Certifications and Competencies: Chemotherapy competent and IV cannulation (IVC) competent.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
