Job Title: Senior Technical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Specialist to join our team at Optus. As a key member of our security operations team, you will be responsible for managing daily security operations, conducting data analysis, and developing customized reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Security Operations: Oversee daily security operations using a range of security technologies, including Check Point and Cisco Firewalls.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct data analysis and develop customized reports to ensure compliance with customer-contracted security requirements.
  • Security Hardening: Create technical specifications for security hardening configurations across various equipment and technologies.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain user documentation to support solutions, process development, and tuning.
  • Change Management: Participate in creating and updating change requests and take part in Change Authorization Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Performance Metrics: Implement and maintain metrics to ensure compliance with customer-contracted security requirements and meet reporting standards.
  • Threat Advisory: Prepare and distribute security advisories on emerging threat landscapes.
  • Incident Management: Engage in security incident response processes and participate in red team exercises.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 5-8 years of demonstrated experience in managing Check Point firewalls, ideally versions R81.10 and R81.20.
  • Certification: Valid Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) - R81.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of common security technologies such as Firewalls, SIEM, IPS, Endpoint Protection Systems, Vulnerability Management, Web Proxies, and Identity Access Management Systems.
  • Hands-On Experience: Proficiency in daily security operations using security technologies such as Check Point Firewalls.
  • Security Frameworks: Sound knowledge of security incident frameworks, such as NIST.
