Digital Sub Editor Role\

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Sub-Editor to join our Sydney team on a casual basis, working on SBS News' Digital platforms.

  • \
  • Preparing content ready for publication across SBS News digital output\
  • Sub-edit, amend and publish copy derived from wires and original content from SBS News journalists to ensure balance, factual correctness and adherence with style guides and Codes of Practice\
  • Sub-edit across different verticals, adapting to different tones and styles for copy including video, social posts, graphic explainers and data visualisations in a timely fashion to maximise audience growth and engagement\
  • Develop engaging headlines engineered for SEO performance\
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of CMS operations and best practice to publish content to the SBS News site when required\

    • A confident and creative editor with a strong eye for detail and the angles that matter to our audience\
    • An understanding of media law, flawless subbing, strong headline writing skills\
    • A commitment to maintaining editorial integrity and maximising publishing reach\
    • Demonstrated experience as a sub-editor\
