Job Overview

We're seeking energetic and reliable animal care professionals to join our team at Darwin airport. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of animals, provide exceptional customer service, and contribute to the health and wellbeing of pets in our care.

This role involves caring for boarding and daycare pets, which includes feeding, grooming, enrichment, and health checks. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, supervising dogs, and providing exercise and enrichment activities.

In addition to your technical skills and experience, we're looking for someone who is passionate about animal welfare, has excellent communication skills, and is able to work independently as part of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Caring for boarding and daycare pets - ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including frequent cleaning and upkeep of facilities
  • Health checks and general animal husbandry
  • Supervising dogs and managing their behaviors to maintain overall wellbeing and safety
  • Providing exercise and enrichment activities for pets
  • Providing exceptional customer service to pet owners at drop-off and pick-up
Requirements:
  • Animal lovers with a passion for animal welfare and customer service
  • Physically fit and comfortable working indoors and outdoors with pets of all sizes
  • Previous experience in animal care, pet retail, or veterinary clinics is desirable but not essential
  • Qualifications in animal studies or companion animal services (or currently studying) are a bonus
  • Own transport is essential as public transport does not service our location during operating hours
  • Confident communicators with a friendly and professional approach to customer service
  • Reliable and positive team players who enjoy fast-paced and hands-on work
  • Ability to work independently and ask for guidance when needed
  • Commitment to working safely and following instructions, policies and procedures at all times
