We are seeking a Support Specialist to provide person-centred care to individuals with disabilities. This role involves implementing de-escalation techniques to prevent and manage challenging situations, as well as assisting with daily activities such as personal care, bowel management, and medication administration.

  • Implement de-escalation techniques to prevent and defuse challenging situations.
  • Manage unpredictable participant behaviour and implement safe strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist participants with daily activities, including personal care, bowel management, and medication administration.
  • Transport participants and work collaboratively with treating teams and allied health professionals.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience supporting complex needs clients requiring high levels of care and physical assistance.
  • Demonstrate strong manual handling skills, including hoist and wheelchair use.
  • Practical knowledge working with individuals with behaviours of concern and physical/mental disabilities.
