Schedule Management Expertise

">

As a Senior Platform Engineer - Scheduling, you will be responsible for managing critical platforms that underpin workload processing for nearly 300 applications across the bank. You will work across hybrid cloud environments, multiple technologies, and collaborate with diverse community of platform stakeholders to deliver consistently high performance in our batch scheduling operations.

  • You will oversee the operational effectiveness of the bank's Enterprise Scheduling and XCOM Services.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust batch scheduling solutions.
  • Manage enterprise-grade scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, Autosys, Tidal).
  • Integrate and manage deployment pipelines with Octopus Deploy.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, ensuring swift resolution of incidents.
  • Develop automation scripts to enhance scheduling efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with security and operational best practices.
  • Assess and seek to optimise batch processing performance, identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Manage SSL Certificates, including upgrades, troubleshooting, and renewals.
  • Document processes, workflows, and configurations to support operational continuity and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills and Qualifications

This role is ideal for an experienced Autosys Workload Automation & XCOM Data Transport Engineer with a strong operational background in large-scale banking or financial services environments.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

">

  • Expertise in managed file transfer technologies, troubleshooting methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux (Red Hat preferred), Windows, AIX, VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Web server administration (e.g., Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, JBoss).
  • Proficiency in Python, Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PostgreSQL, and cloud technologies (S3, EC2).
  • Experience with GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and vulnerability management.
  • Expertise in OAuth, MFA, PingID, MS Authenticator, and SAML protocols.
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tooling, particularly Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Familiarity with ITIL best-practice frameworks on Incident, Knowledge, Problem, and Change Management.
