Instrumental Music Teacher

Christway College is seeking a dedicated and passionate instrumental music teacher to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for delivering instruction in drums and percussion to students across various ability levels.

This casual part-time position involves teaching small groups and individual students in the Years 7 and 8 Band Programs. We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with the Music team to contribute significantly to the achievements of the team.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate effectively to students, parents, and teachers. A commitment to professional learning and growth is also essential.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated capacity to deliver instruction in instrumental music programs to individual students.
  • Demonstrated capacity to deliver instruction in Years 7 and 8 Band Programs to small groups.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work as part of the Music team and contribute significantly to the achievements of the team.
  • Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current Working with Children Check or VIT registration.
  • Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate - and/or a commitment to ongoing training, including anaphylaxis and asthma management.
  • Willingness to undertake a National Criminal History Record Check upon appointment.
