Emergency Medicine Consultant

This position offers the opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity Emergency Department, driving specialist emergency medical care and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality specialist emergency medical care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a busy regional ED.
  • Deliver clinical leadership during shifts, promoting best practice and patient-centred care.
  • Supervise and mentor Registrars, Junior Medical Officers, and medical students, fostering their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with other specialists and contribute to out-of-hours coverage, supporting the success of our ED.

Contributions to strategic planning, service development, and quality improvement are also expected. Note that this position is not suitable for applicants on the specialist pathway with limited registration.

Requirements
  • Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.
  • Current Specialist Registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teaching, and supervision experience.
  • Commitment to delivering best practice, patient-centred emergency care.
