Job Description:

  • The Learning and Development team is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs including leadership development programs, performance initiatives, Corporate Induction, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce development programs for executives, managers, and staff across the department.

This role provides an opportunity to work with an experienced team on learning opportunities that are targeted, relevant, and well-received. You will contribute your own ideas to those projects you are responsible for.

You are an experienced Learning and Development professional who has worked with learning and organisational development projects. The fundamental skill requirements for this role include engagement of stakeholders, management of consultation, working with subject matter experts, and support for the implementation of the People Strategy.

The Senior Advisor's Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage learning and development projects ensuring achievement of deliverables within required timeframes.
  • Develop quality working partnerships within the department and across other government agencies to contribute to the delivery of effective learning and development services.
  • Prepare plans, submissions, reports, briefs, and other correspondence on learning and development issues and initiatives undertaking appropriate research to support any recommendations.
  • Provide advice to managers and key stakeholders on a range of human resources issues associated with learning initiatives and programs.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of key departmental and public service reform initiatives and emerging human resources issues.
