Overview:
The role of Lead Innovator for Homelessness and Community Services is a key position within our organisation, requiring an individual with significant experience in supporting social inclusion and progression of people experiencing homelessness or social isolation using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on complex cases, escalate risks, and support staff through reflective practice, case reviews, secondary consultations, and training.
- Contribute to the development of evidence-based, culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices across homelessness and community supports services.
- Lead or participate in projects and programs such as Street2Home, Journey to Social Inclusion, and the Zero Project.
- Collaborate with the leadership team and fellow innovators to drive service innovations and quality improvements.
- Travel regularly within the region to engage with teams face-to-face.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience supporting social inclusion and progression of people experiencing homelessness or social isolation using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience working in homelessness program delivery, including early intervention settings, assertive outreach and housing-first therapeutic and trauma-informed methodology.
- A track record in coaching and developing staff, leading reflective practice, facilitating training, and providing case consultations.
- The ability to draw meaningful insights from practice data, identify trends, and recommend improvements at individual, team and system levels.
- A collaborative, solutions-focused approach, working confidently across teams and disciplines to guide high-quality decisions.
- Strong understanding of homelessness, community support, children and families, family violence and youth service delivery streams.
