Clinical Midwife Role

Opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic midwife to join our caseload midwifery group practice model of care in collaboration with local obstetric teams at Geraldton Health Campus.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years' demonstrated post-registration experience and commitment working in midwifery led, women-centred models of care, with advanced skills across the continuum of care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing continuity of midwifery carer within a caseload midwifery led model in collaboration with local obstetric teams throughout the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period.
  • Working within a group practice and providing antenatal and postnatal support and backup for the woman in the community or in the hospital.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective care.

To be successful, you will need:

  • A minimum of three years' demonstrated post-registration experience and commitment working in midwifery led, women-centred models of care.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated practice within the latest ANMC Competency Standards for Midwives and the ACM National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral.
  • Effective communication and interpretation skills, including the ability to facilitate information sharing between colleagues, women and their families.
  • A commitment to quality improvement activities, customer service and clinical governance within the healthcare sector.
  • Current knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Work Health and Safety.
