About the Role

As a Junior Underground Geologist at Evolution Mining, you will play a crucial role in the management and execution of daily underground grade control activities. Your duties will include collecting and validating operational and geological data, performing geological mapping, and collaborating with mining stakeholders to optimize ore extraction and minimize ore loss.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct geological mapping of operating development and other development areas as instructed by the Senior Underground Geologist
  • Perform daily stope and ROM inspections to ensure accurate data collection
  • Inspect and markup UG Stockpile to improve ore and waste management
  • Assist in managing and monitoring material movements from the underground mine daily
  • Communicate and collaborate with mining stakeholders to optimize ore extraction and minimize ore loss
  • Contribute to the ongoing maintenance of underground sample QAQC to a high standard
  • Perform geological logging of diamond drilling core as required or directed by the Senior Mine Geologist
  • Assist Underground Project Geologists with the supervision of diamond drilling contractors
  • Ensure compliance with environmental procedures and policies
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require a tertiary qualification in geology or geoscience, previous exposure to mine or exploration geology functions, and underground mining experience. You will also need to be able to understand, interpret, and analyze various datasets, perform geological mapping in the underground environment, and possess a strong aptitude for quick learning and embracing change in a dynamic environment.
