Job Description

The position of Clinical Nurse in our Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) involves providing high-quality clinical nursing care to children and youth within a CYMHS setting. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively to develop and implement individualized care plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient.


Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical nursing care to children and youth within a CYMHS setting, prioritizing their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Work closely with colleagues to design and implement comprehensive care plans that address the complex needs of patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to strict privacy policies and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest best practices, evidence-based treatments, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and expertise.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment by promoting open communication, respect, and empathy among colleagues and clients.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in Child & Youth Mental Health within a community setting, demonstrating a deep understanding of the complexities involved.
  • Previous experience working within Queensland Health and CIMHA frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and protocols.
  • Current QLD 'C' Class Driver's Licence, allowing for efficient travel to various locations as required.
  • Certified proof of Australian working rights, guaranteeing eligibility for employment.
  • Certified copies of three (3) forms of ID, verifying personal identity and authenticity.
  • Certified copy of qualifications, highlighting relevant education and training.
  • Aggressive behaviour management training, equipping you with the skills to handle challenging situations effectively.
  • Mandatory reporting (Child Abuse & Neglect), ensuring compliance with legal requirements and organizational policies.
  • Medication management (QPHS - Drugs & Poisons Regulations 2012), enabling safe and effective administration of medications.
  • Understanding of responsibilities under the Aged Care Act & Elder Abuse, demonstrating awareness of sensitive topics and protocols.
