About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Culinary Care Specialist to join our team at Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality catering services to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals for residents, visitors, staff, and functions
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, HACCP, quality, and hygiene standards
  • Maintain accurate catering records, including food temperature monitoring
  • Report resident feedback on meal satisfaction
  • Work collaboratively with staff to provide person-centered food services and supports
  • Support residents in making their own food decisions, in conjunction with nursing staff
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a food handling role
  • Sound best practice food handling skills
  • Adequate communication skills and good English literacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with older adults
  • Sound manual handling skills
  • Good time management and ability to work independently
  • Basic understanding of dementia support requirements
