Senior Heritage Specialist Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Heritage Specialist to lead our heritage team in Melbourne and regional Victoria. This is a permanent role that requires strong technical leadership, excellent project management skills, and business development acumen.

  • The Senior Heritage Specialist will provide high-level technical expertise in Aboriginal cultural heritage management, leading the development of industry-leading capabilities within the team.
  • They will contribute to winning opportunities through strong client relationships, proposal writing, and coaching/mentoring within the team.
  • The successful candidate will deliver a wide range of heritage projects, working collaboratively with various disciplines and staff experience levels.

About the Role:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of large-scale environmental projects (EES, EIS, etc.).
  • Provide expert knowledge of State and Commonwealth heritage legislation and relevant guidelines across multiple states in Australia.
  • Cultivate high-level stakeholder and client relationships.
  • Succeed in chasing and winning new work and clients.
  • Collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading teams to deliver heritage projects in Australia.
  • Expertise in consulting for Aboriginal heritage in Victoria.
  • Victorian Registered Heritage Advisor with the appropriate qualifications and experience to lead fieldwork in accordance with the requirements of the new Minister's Guidelines.
