
Surgical Instruments Specialist

**About the Role**
As a skilled professional, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and assembly of surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Inspecting, wrapping, and sterilising equipment to meet high standards of cleanliness and sterility
- Working collaboratively with operating theatre staff to provide timely sterile products, trays, and equipment as needed
- Ensuring consistency and continuity of workflow between various operating theatre areas and CSSD departments
Additionally, you will be expected to maintain exceptional customer service and operational standards within the sterilisation department.
Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the Nurse Unit Manager and work closely with an efficient professional team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in clinical sterilisation services, preferably within a hospital setting
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments
- Previous experience in sterilisation roles
- Certificate III in Sterilizing Services (essential)
- Evidence of HICMR competency (desirable)
- Endoscopy washing/processing experience (desirable)
- Availability for Monday to Friday roster, including morning and afternoon shifts
- Self-direction and ability to work cohesively with a team
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of safe manual handling
