Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of park operations professionals to deliver exceptional services for the city's open spaces.

  • Maintain and operate plant equipment as required, and perform gardening tasks as needed.
  • Oversee the operational management of the council's open space service areas; lead, engage, mentor and develop the team; develop and implement maintenance and inspection schedules; project manage specialized maintenance and/or preparation of facilities; assist with developing and implementing annual work programs and operational plans.
  • Provide high-quality service delivery systems, processes and services in the establishment and maintenance of parks, gardens, reserves, and sportsgrounds.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications such as a minimum certificate III in horticulture, green keeping or agriculture.
  • Substantial leadership experience with the ability to lead, engage, mentor, and develop a team, and manage personnel effectively.
  • Strong time management, planning, financial, and administrative skills; and sound communication and interpersonal skills.
