Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as an AutoCAD Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating component lists from design detailing, ensuring floor plans and individual jobs are accurate and timely.

The role provides the crucial link between the creative work of the Design Studio and our Production and Warehouse departments. You will be part of a team that builds some of the largest exhibitions in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive raw floor plans from clients, typically in PDF format, and import them into the appropriate building and halls.
  • Create stands and structures using elements and templates saved in the AutoCAD system.
  • Convert AutoCAD bills of materials to Excel, where the data needs to be sorted and filtered before being transferred to the inventory software to generate a warehouse work order.
  • Consolidate individual work files and add them to the main floor plan.
  • Proof and re-proof plans and drawings to ensure accuracy and limit mistakes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Superior AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Proficiency in other design packages such as SketchUp is desirable.
  • Experience in working with floor plans.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to meet tight timelines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to undertake multiple projects simultaneously.
