Secure Product Leader

We are seeking a seasoned Security Lead to spearhead our product security efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our SaaS platform is robust and secure.

As a trusted advisor, you will embed security practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), collaborate with engineering teams to identify and address security risks, and champion secure SDLC practices.

You will be responsible for:

  • Embedding security into every layer of our platform, from initial design to live deployment
  • Collaborating with software engineering and product teams to proactively identify and address security risks in our SaaS applications
  • Managing security incidents and owning client-facing security documentation
  • Supporting security-related elements of our compliance initiatives and implementing product security tools
  • Working closely with DevSecOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure consistency in approach and alignment with internal policies
Requirements:
  • Strong academic background, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Understanding of data security principles and web application data security architectures
  • Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations in Australia and ability to learn about other jurisdictions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with experience in diagnosing and identifying root causes of complex issues
  • Familiarity with security tools such as Snyk, OWASP ZAP, and GitHub Dependabot
  • Proactive approach to self-education in new areas and strong oral and written communication skills
